Collagen and elastin work together to promote supple, plump, and glowing skin. Collagen builds structure in the skin, while elastin allows for increased flexibility. Both proteins decrease with age, stress, and exposure to environmental toxins. Adding them to the diet using Body Kitchen supplements helps to replenish and rejuvenate the skin from the inside out.
Both collagen and elastin are easy to incorporate into smoothies, such as this delicious chocolate peanut butter version. Try it for breakfast, after a workout, or as an afternoon snack. The only sweetener in this smoothie is banana, but for a sweeter version, feel free to add a little honey or maple syrup.

While you might think the cauliflower is optional here, go the extra step and blend some in. First, you won’t taste it and second, the vitamin C in the cauliflower lends a hand to help your body utilize the amino acids to boost your collagen. Enjoy!
1 banana, frozen
1/3 cup frozen cauliflower
1 tablespoon natural peanut butter
1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds
2 teaspoons raw cacao powder
1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
2 scoops Body Kitchen Original Body Boost Collagen
2 capsules Body Kitchen Pro-Elastin
Add banana, cauliflower, peanut butter, pumpkin seeds, cacao, and milk to high-speed blender. Blend until smooth.
Add the collagen powder. Open the Pro-Elastin capsules and dump the contents into the blender. Discard the empty capsules. Blend again until supplements are well incorporated. Enjoy immediately.
